A philisophical approach to a vampire world by Aries Andaire.
I have killed many in my time on this earth, this life. Maybe millions, perhaps more. My talent does not leave me with these actions guilt free. The souls I see, I weigh their deeds in my head then approach them as concequence for their own actions. But who am I to bring them their punishment? It is I that brings the deed upon myself. Not only do I feed from them, no. I consume their soul. Take it from them like a breath. It is only then I feed, when I receive all they can give me. Sometimes I gain a suprise... a little something. Sometimes it would have been the potiential talen the human would have carried over to another life... if the victom was human. If the victom was vampire, and I took their soul say they were telepathic. I am now telepathic, and they are not. They have no soul. They are broken. If I am merciful I will destroy their body, the vessil I just emptied from the promise of eternal life. Life beyond the one we know now. But if I am truley spiteful, or I control my rage, I let the victom live on. Souless and wandering. The human usually has no clue that when their candle in snuffed at this experience, its lights out. There is nothing left for their soul, as their soul is mine. But the vampires whose souls I take within me, they know. Even if they did not believe they had a soul before, they know afterward. They don't normally know how to react. And still they wander, now with a fear they have never realized. Until they driven insane frolm the prospect of if. If they were to be detroyed, if ever that were to happen, if they were to be destroyed that that is the end.
The vampire is a strange creature. They have all the time in the world possible and yet live more in the now than the human, who's time on this earth is sadly so short. The vampire is an opportunistic being. Taking advantage of every situation. Very few learn to be patient. Very few understand that they have a frozen watch, they do not know what to do with it. I wonder if they can even comprehend the subject at times. The matter of time, the slowest and fastest of all things.
I watch vampire kind evolve around the human, shaping the human without knowing it. (Some know it, those are the wise ones.) What would the world be if the human were allowed to continue to breed on, like a plague-like parasite? Consuming everything there is to consume. This is why I still continue to feed on humans, no matter how many black marks I receive on my own soul. I feed because it is in my nature to. I feed because the earth is screaming in pain, suffocating in the filth the human world had created. I do not take more than I have to. Sometimes allowing myself to go several months without a drop of the drink I need to survive civil-like. Though I see others greedily taking what the wish withouth needing it. Threatoning to expose vampires in all their glittering glory.
Then we have the Volturi, oh our brave, brave Volturi out to save the world from the vampire menice. I am joking, obviously. Aro, Marcus and Caius... the arrogance is nearly maddening. The hold they have on the world is quite amazing I will give them that much. But their heads are all twisted. The throb-less hearts cannot even see a simple love case and let it slide without hanging death over the looming future. If they had the insight I have, regardless of whatever Aro boasts he can do. Even without me, just weigh the love and past actions and that should be enough for a pass or veto from the High Court.
Revenge. If you could see the amount of revenge sweeping the world... just the vampire world. Death, agony, death, hatred. It is amazing the vampire race still lives on really. Even I am not immune to revenge.
And again, the human is so gullible. Take a look at Hilter for example. One human man lead millions of others to death. Surely the vampire is not such a horrible entity compaired of what the human race can achive...
Then are we really so bad. Our vast differences between vampire and vampire alike. Killing and caring. Destroying and loving.
Is the man I hunt that beats his wife every night the wrong prey? Who's to say I cannot punish him? Will the woman he has at home feel relief when he does not return? I need his blood for mine sanity, his soul for my addiction. Am I as bad as the man I hunt for just wanting a meal? Killing him in return for his actions he doesn't know he is currently being judged for. He soul is dark, near the blackness that is mine. I know I am already doomed for an enternity of pain after this life... so what is another human to my instincts? Another drop of blood for my tongue?
Karma. It all comes around in the end.
