I slid the key into he lock and opened the door. It was dark inside my Condo. I walked in, in a generally good mood. I did enjoy Seattle, there were plenty of clubs to hit where one could... How could I put it - where one could grab a bite and no one would notice if one of he dancers disappeared with a strange woman and didn't come back, that was typical. I tossed my purse and keys onto the small table beside the door. I strolled into the living room. The couch was in the middle of the room was covered in a blanket. I didn't need the lights on to see perfectly int he dark. My senses still heightened from tracking my prey.
Kay, so I'd been cruel, that was allowed every now and then, and when I'd caught the poor thing I'd killed him quickly. I decided to turn on the TV, just to give the illusion to my companion that I was really interested, Apollo knew better. By the way, Apollo is my cat.
He strolled out of the bedroom, his black head high, tail int he same position. His green eyes searching for me, finding me sitting on the back of the couch, frozen, staring at the TV blankly. he came and managed to jump onto the back of the cough with me and rubed his head against my marble skin. I've had him seance he was a kitten, he isn't scared of me. I picked him up and placed him carefully in my lap.
"I know, I know. I should really find you a girlfriend." I muttered as I gently dragged my slender fingers across his pelt. Suddenly I rolled forward. I somehow ended up with my legs hanging over the back oft he couch, my back to where the average person would place their backside and my cat dangling from my hands above me. HE still wasn't scared, startled sure but he was used to my sudden moves. As use to them as you could be. He stayed limp in my arms. Then he meowed.
'Alright, alright. I'm sorry." Is aid as I set him on the leather couch beside me and stared at the TV upside down.
"Do you want Animal Planet?" I asked and laughed. I really needed to get a better companion then a cat. Like someone that actually spoke the same language as me. Apollo was my seventeenth cat. And each cat had lived to around eighteen years old. I'd had a cat in my life sense about 1702. I'd had a cat longer then I'd have male companions. It wasn't my fault a cat was a better companion then a male.
I stared at the TV, as usual for three in the morning, and I reviewed my last hunt simply for lack of something Else to do..
At a club, wearing skimpy clothing, as usual. I danced a bit then ordered a drink or three maybe. I have a routine now, and I don't pay attention to it anymore. I find that the more alcoholic drinks go down easier. Alcohol doesn't affect me int he same way it does humans. It heightens my senses. I noticed a few men looking my way before I'd even downed the first drink. By my third I was acting just drunk enough to make them brave and move in. I'd taken the first guy stupid enough to ask me to dance. I'd been smart enough to go along with his conversation perfectly. He'd invited me to go for a walk, walk off my 'drunkenness' as he called it. We made it to a park, to a secluded place in the park. Thats when he turned don me - well I'd let him. he didn't get far before I'd showed him what I could do. I had no trouble being fast enough that I caught him by the neck and held him off the ground, showing my fangs, and thirsty black gaze. He'd run and I'd enjoyed the chase. I caught him and let him escape a few times - like an experienced feline with a stupid mouse. I played with my food. On the fifth try I let him think he'd gotten away, he was heading for the exit, I'd crept around front of him and while he was looking over his shoulder i dropped in front o of him. Scared the crap out of him. He's dead now. And I don't even remember his name.
Red eyes looked over at the clock. Fivr o'clock. Dang, that had wasted plenty of time. Apollo was asleep, curled up against my arm. He trusted me not to kill him. Sweet kitty. I'd killed one of his ancestors, my third through eighth cats had all gone that way, and I was upset with myself. But I got over it. I sat up an and looked out the balcony window, the sky was lightening over in the east. But the clouds were dark, as storm was coming.
"it's a nonexistent Sunrise today Apollo." I said with a sigh as I got up and walked over to the kitchen, which was pretty much apart of the living room and opened a can of wet cat food.
